Gone has 20th century, and 21st century came in Yunnan Aluminium's course of rapid development and continuous accelerating to join internation market. In the last three decades of 20th century, Yunnan Aluminium constantly leaped and developed through making technological progress. In 30 years, with the help and supports of leaders of various ranks and friends with different social background, after generations of exploiting, enterprising, united striving, Yunnan Aluminium developed steadily from a local plant with annual capacity of 3000t electrolyzed aluminium to become one of national five biggest aluminium factories, with annual capacity of 130,000t electrolyzed aluminium. It has transformed its system successfully to be listed in stock market in 1998, became the biggest aluminium public company currently in China.
In 30 years, Yunnan Aluminium has 44 times more electrolyzing capacity, nearly 77 times more overall capacity; the company's overall assets increased from RMB 16 million intiate state capital to RMB 2.3 billion, i.e. 137 times; labor productivity improved almost 20 times, major technical equipment achieved international advance level. In 30 years, Yunnan Aluminium accumulated nearly RMB 1 billion profits and tax for the state, was honoured successively with 'National Wu Yi Working Prize Diploma', 'National Green-making Advance Unit', 'National Workers' Home Model', 'Provincial Civilized Unit' 'Province Ideological and Political Work Advance Unit', and other nearly a hundred titles. In 30 years, Yunnan Aluminium adhered to the policy of 'Technological Development', from penniless to better off, from small to big, from weak to strong, became a bright point in China Aluminium Industry development in twentieth century and the pride of state owned enterprise development.
New century means new growth point. Our target in Tenth Five-Year-Plan is 300,000t electrolyzed aluminium. Our tenet is 'to be world first class through making technological progress'. The coming Tenth Five-Year-Plan is a vital period for Yunnan Aluminium to carve out again, develop further, build future prosperity on past achievement. In Tenth Five-Year-Plan, we would invest RMB 1.7 billion more to transform the enterprise entirely with the most up-to-date 300kA pre-baking electrolyzing technology, expand our capacity to 300,000t electrolyzed aluminium and 500,000t overall output, and step forward to become world first class enterprise. New century means new development.
